Welcome to Taunton Deane Ramblers
See our Walking with us page for more information

Taunton lies at the heart of Somerset between two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Quantock Hills, England’s first AONB and the Blackdown Hills. Exmoor National Park borders the Taunton Deane area, and with the coastal regions of North Somerset and Dorset we are spoilt with a wide variety of walk locations all within an hour’s travel from Taunton.
We aim to provide up to 3 walks every week ranging from a leisurely 4 miles to a more strenuous 10-13 miles. The walks are on Wednesday afternoons, Sunday full day and occasionally Sunday half day walks.
All different terrains are covered from canal towpaths to tracks in the hills and valleys. We often visit neighbouring counties to extend our reach into other parts of the countryside so we get to see wonderful scenery and views.
Our knowledgeable leaders are always looking for new places to explore and visit, particularly the many wonderful villages and hills within our area or further afield. Joining friends and meeting new people each week is always something to look forward to, especially the anticipation of walking somewhere new or enjoying the changing seasons.
